The VNDPS was founded in 2001/2005 upon the merger of the Lithuanian Peasants Party (LVP) and the New Democracy Party (NDP). In Feb 2006 the VNDPS changed its name to LVLS and in Jan 2012 the LVLS became the LVZS.

The TS(LK) was founded on 1 May (registered on 26 May) 1993 by the Sajudis (Reform Movement of Lithuania) right wing. It merged with the LTS on 11 Mar 2008 and with the LKD on 17 May 2008, becoming the TS-LKD.
The LSDP was first founded on 1 May 1896 and restablished on 12 Aug 1989 (registered on 17 Jan 1990). On 27 Jan 2001 it merged with the LDDP to form a new party also named LSDP.
